Five-Time Major Champion Dupreeh Announces Retirement

One of the most decorated players in Counter-Strike history has announced his retirement. Dupreeh made his decision public on June 22 during BLAST Austin Major, delivering an emotional farewell speech on stage, where the 32-year-old Dane couldn’t hold back tears.

In his farewell speech, Dupreeh revealed that his main reason for leaving esports was his family. The player said he wants to spend more time with his children.

Dupreeh holds the record for the most Major appearances in CS history — he took the stage 19 times, winning 5 titles in total: four with Astralis and one with Vitality. Throughout his career, the Danish player earned over $2.2 million in prize money.
