The final regional qualifiers for the BLAST Austin Major 2025 concluded on the night of April 18. As a result, the full list of teams that will join the invited clubs has been finalized. The teams that qualified and will compete in the first stage of the Major are: OG, HEROIC, Metizport, Nemiga Gaming, BB Team, B8, Complexity, Wildcard, NRG, Imperial Esports, Fluxo, BESTIA, Chinggis Warriors, Lynn Vision Gaming, FlyQuest, TYLOO. Previously, the following teams were invited to the second stage based on the Valve team ranking: Team Falcons, FaZe Clan, 3DMAX, Virtus.pro, paiN Gaming, FURIA, MIBR, and M80. The third stage will feature Team Vitality, MOUZ, Team Spirit, Aurora Gaming, Natus Vincere, G2 Esports, Team Liquid, and The MongolZ. The BLAST Austin Major 2025 will take place in the United States from June 2 to June 22, with a prize pool of $1,250,000.

The matches of the European MRQ will conclude on April 17, determining the final team from the region to qualify for the Austin Major.

The participants were placed in a Swiss-system group, where qualification and elimination matches were played in a best-of-3 format, while all other matches followed a best-of-1 format.

The top five teams from the group stage have already advanced to the first stage of the Major. Three more teams will compete on April 17 for a single slot in the additional MRQ stage — the Play-In.
These three teams have been placed into a single-elimination bracket with best-of-3 matches. The winner of the ENCE vs B8 match will advance to the Play-In final to face Astralis for a spot in the first stage of the Major.

G2 Esports has officially completed its CS2 roster. The fifth player of the team is hades. Hades has joined G2 on loan from Monte. The loan is reported to last until the end of June, meaning the team will play with hades at the BLAST.tv Austin Major 2025. Earlier, m0NESY transferred from G2 to Falcons. As a result, the current roster of the team includes: huNter-, malbsMd, Snax, HeavyGod, and hades. The team is coached by TaZ. The first tournament for G2's new lineup will be PGL Astana 2025, scheduled for May 10–18.

Falcons have confirmed the transfer of m0NESY from G2 Esports. The financial details of the deal remain undisclosed. m0NESY will replace degster, who has been moved to the bench. As a result, the current Falcons roster consists of Magisk, NiKo, TeSeS, kyxsan, and m0NESY. The first tournament for the revamped Falcons lineup will be IEM Melbourne 2025. The event will take place in Australia from April 21 to 27.

PGL Bucharest 2025 concluded on the evening of April 13 with a grand final showdown between Team Falcons and G2 Esports. The best-of-5 final began with a confident victory for Falcons on the opponent’s pick — 13:5 on Mirage. NiKo’s team continued their momentum by taking Nuke with ease (13:7) and finished off G2 on their own map pick Ancient (13:8). With three straight wins, Falcons secured a clean sweep. The tournament MVP was awarded to Falcons’ sniper degster, who posted a 46-30 K-D and a 1.27 rating across the three maps. The total prize pool of PGL Bucharest 2025 was $625,000. Team Falcons earned $200,000 for their championship win, while G2 took home $93,750 for second place.

Valve has released an updated team ranking, which revealed the first participants of the BLAST Austin Major, as well as the qualifying tournaments. The top-ranked teams have advanced directly to Stage 3 of the Major: Vitality, Spirit, Natus Vincere, Liquid, MOUZ, Aurora, G2, and The MongolZ. Stage 2 will feature Falcons, 3DMAX, paiN, MIBR, FaZe, Virtus.pro, FURIA, and M80. The remaining Major participants will be determined through six regional qualifiers. The European MRQ Tournament will begin on April 14 and conclude on April 17. Sixteen teams will compete in the European qualifier for six Major slots: Astralis, SAW, HEROIC, 500, OG, BB Team, PARIVISION, ENCE, GamerLegion, BC.Game, BIG, B8, Nemiga, fnatic, 9 Pandas, and Metizport.
